Opportunity: Director

The Board of Trustees are looking to appoint a new Director. The post holder will be responsible for leading an non-profit contemporary art institution that has an international track record for championing new, global discourses in contemporary art.

You will be a motivating leader with demonstrable experience and insight to cultivate a programme that is experimental, innovative and original. The organisation has a long history of working at the intersections of queer studies and social change, and in excelling at engaging large national and international audiences. You will have the ambition to take this work forward into a new stage of the organisation’s development.

We are looking for applicants with the skills to create and implement visionary curatorial activity, developing national and international partnerships to benefit the programme and to build the reputation and reach of the institution.

The Director will need excellent fundraising and managerial skills, demonstrable experience in collaborative working and be adept at business planning and financial management. The Director will be a compelling representative for Auto Italia, to a wide range of artists, partners, donors, funders and other stakeholders.

You will closely align with the mission and values of Auto Italia, committed to a culture that is inclusive and open to all by creating a positive environment for staff and artists, and nurturing the artistic and social community that is Auto Italia and its audiences.

The role will appeal to candidates seeking a senior strategic position at the head of a small but ambitious organisation. We are looking for inspirational leadership skills and a vision for the future.
