Call for Proposals: Art/Work Association 2026 Programme

Auto Italia’s Art/Work Association (A/WA) is excited to announce a call for proposals for its 2026 programme. We’re looking for dynamic event ideas through a variety of formats, including artist talks, seminars, reading groups, performances, and workshops. This opportunity is open to early-career artists, creatives, and cultural workers.

About Art/Work Association

Art/Work Association is a programme for early-career artists and creative workers. Members generate an ongoing programme of events, conceived as a platform for artist-led learning, which take place at Auto Italia.

We welcome a broad range of ideas and topics, which may include: intersectionality in art practice, practicalities useful for creatives (finances, career advice, etc.), cultural phenomena, pop culture and identity, political movements, and queer culture.

Event format

A/WA sessions take many forms, from artist talks and workshops to reading groups, screenings and informal performances. We encourage experimental approaches that invite  collective reflection, skill-sharing, and open conversation.

You might choose to host an ‘in conversation’ talk with a guest speaker, lead a reading or discussion group around selected texts, artworks or topics, or propose an interactive workshop that creates space for shared learning.

Events should prioritise dialogue, exchange, and exploration over presentation or self-promotion, offering members a chance to think critically together about contemporary issues in art and culture. To explore previous events, visit https://artworkassociation.org/programme/

Chosen applicants will host their event for Auto Italia audiences to attend. All sessions take place at Auto Italia.

Events are up to two hours long, and a £300 fee is provided per session to cover artist fees and materials.

How to apply

Please submit:

  • A proposal (maximum 500 words) outlining your event idea
  • A short biography or CV

The call for proposals closes on 8th December 2025. For submissions or further information, please email info@artworkassociation.org.
